Hotels have problems finding receptionists, waiters, maids, chefs and guards, due to personnel fluctuation on the market. A waiter earns some €120 while an experienced waiter can earn some €250.
There is some 15-20 percent employee fluctuation on the hotel segment, according to Ben-Yehuda. Employee fluctuation increased 10 percent in the past year, forcing hotels to compromise their recruiting standards. “Employers reduce their demands related to age, education, experience, while wages increase,” added Ben-Yehuda.
The two hotels have 350 employees. The most effective method for recruiting staff is by recommendation. Hotels collaborate with technical schools, and 10 percent of students that carry out an internship during their studies are hired after graduation.
