What dividends will listed companies pay in 2009?

Highest yields could be found in the case of dividends paid by companies such as Alro Slatina, Aerostar Bacau, or the group of five financial investment companies (SIF) listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). In the case of companies listed on the over-the-counter RASDAQ market, Artego Targu-Jiu, Confectii Vaslui, and Iproeb Bistrita could register highest dividend yields, according to Prime Transaction brokerage company analysts.

“Obviously there is a risk that companies will allocate a lower profit ratio for dividends in 2009. Considering that banking financing is not as accessible as in past years, they could prefer to hold on to their profit,” said Paul Brendea, Analyst of Prime Transaction.
