Windows Server 2008 launch to boost growth of Microsoft Romania’s server division by 30%

On 20 March, the company is due to announce the availability of three consecrated products, but with new functionality and improvements: Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008.

Microsoft Romania’s last fiscal year, which ended on 30 June 2007, registered aggregated growth on servers and development tools of 33 percent, with a record 60 percent on the small and medium enterprise market, whose interest for information technology is rising.

According to the IDC market research company, Microsoft servers registered a 6.9 percent growth globally in Q4 2007 in terms of revenue, and an advance of 9.8 percent in delivery volume, year-on-year. Quarterly revenue worth $5.7 billion (€3.6 bln) for Microsoft Windows servers represents the highest quarterly revenue, making up the most profitable market segment, of 36.6 percent.

Standard&Poor’s 500 index companies are expected to have an average 2.06 percent yield this year on developed stock markets.
