Company officials said they are not interested in obtaining the status of Financial Investment Service Company (SSIF) this year. “We do not want to broker on BVB [Bucharest Stock Exchange] because [transaction] volumes do not justify such activity. Before coming to Romania, I asked the officials of certain Polish investment funds if they were interested in trading on BVB, and the answer was no,” said the company’s General Manager, Victor Safta.
Entering the Romanian market required investments worth €3 mln, and most of these funds will be allocated for “the education of clients through free training and consultancy, provided by the company’s dealers,” Safta added.
