Telemobil, the operator of mobile phone network Zapp, has already selected the suppliers for equipment, terminals and content to be used for its 3G mobile network. Zapp was granted a 3G license in 2006 and is compelled to make it operational by June 2008.

Market sources told Business Standard that ongoing talks with some suppliers are in an advanced stage while others have just been launched.

Telemobil is not the only operator to win a 3G license. Telecom operator RCS&RDS is also working to make its 3G license functional by next summer. Romania’s largest mobile operators, Vodafone and Orange, are already providing 3G services.
