“In times of crisis, people are not laid off due to poor performance, but because certain positions have been made redundant,” Covaciu explained. However, Zentiva has decided not to freeze its recruiting plan, in spite of the current economic context. The company now has 800 employees and is not planning to cut its staff in 2009.
Zentiva will revise its salaries upwards, “but we will not exaggerate, as it is better to be cautious,” said the producer’s HR Manager. At present, the salary of a Zentiva sales representative starts at €650.
