Zentiva gross sales in Romania decreased by 42.4 percent in Q1, to €15.07 million. The results include the evolution of medications produced in Romania and those imported from other factories.
According to the company’s financial report, the strategic decision to improve cash flows allowed Zentiva to reduce by half the exposure degree to risky debts.
Local brands Algocalmin and Antinevralgic had the largest contribution to sales in Romania. These two brands are among the best sold over the counter drugs on the market. Algocalmin posts annual sales of over €14 million. Zentiva received nine new drugs authorizations in Q1.
For the first half of 2008, the company estimates sales below the results posted the same time last year.
