12 percent profit margin in 2007 for Meda Prod

Most of the company’s profits came from sales made through retail chains, owing to high demand from the market, Georgescu told Business Standard.

The local cold meats production amounts to some 200,000 tons annually and is worth some €700 million, and main producers are Cris-Tim, Aldis Calarasi, Elit, Campofrio and Angst.
Meda Prod is among the top ten companies in the field, with a 9.5 percent market share. Company officials hope to bring the producer among the top five in the coming years.
