ACAROM: Investments in auto component industry will drop next year

“Theorectically, investments cannot drop below €1 billion, but changes to legislation relating to taxes and fees could irritate investors,” said Stroe. He went on to show that a number of investors could migrate to countries east of Romania in the coming years.

“The move to Romania is not eternal. Romania is not the end of the line for auto industry investments. Subassembly producers will continue to move east,” added Stroe.

This year’s investments in the auto industry will be 10 percent higher year-on-year, and €400 million thereof will come from car producers. Over one third of investments in this sector will be from Automobile Dacia, while Ford will allocate some €80 mln to upgrade the Craiova factory.
