The majority shareholder of Alro announced yesterday that the company has qualified for the NADCAP performance certificate, for meeting aerospace industry requirements. The accreditation was received one month ago and is valid for one year. According to industry specialists the certificate will allow the aluminum producer to present its products to the two main international civil aircraft producers, Boeing and Airbus. “The NADCAP accreditation confirms that our development plan is on track. As Alro’s competence has been recognized by the aerospace industry, we are expecting to continue progressing in terms of our strategy to be a traditional supplier of top products, which meets the requirements of the most demanding clients,” said Gheorghe Dobra, General Manager of Alro.
The company has invested over $270 million in the past six years in technological and environmental projects, increasing its production capacity by over 50 percent.
Recently, Christian Wuest, CEO of Vimetco, declared that the deficit on the local electricity market is the reason why Vimetco decided to halt the doubling of the plant’s production capacity and construct new electricity production units which will allow Alro to control costs.
