Altex targets business worth €430 mln

Top growth according to product categories were smartphones and game consoles, at 600 percent, and LCD and plasma monitors, at 460 percent. Mobile phone sales dropped 33 percent, due to new mobile phone operators, which led to post-paid phones.

Four Media Galaxy and ten Altex stores were opened in 2007, generating 550 new jobs. The total number of employees increased by 30 percent compared to 2006. Investments in personnel training rose to €150,000. The company increased wages by 24 percent for back office and by 30 percent for store employees.

Loan services made up 20 percent of total sales. Consumer loans are an important sales instrument. Development plans for 2008 include an investment budget of €25 mln, over 25 percent higher than 2007.
