Annual inflation rose to 6.84% in October

Prices soared by 1.3 percent for foodstuffs in October from September, by 0.7 percent for non-foodstuffs and by 1.0 percent for services.

The largest price rises were registered for edible oil (11.73 percent), eggs (7.96 percent), and gas (3.66 percent).

The average price increase in the past 12 months (November 2006-October 2007) compared to the previous 12 months (November 2005-October 2006) is 4.5 percent when computed on the basis of the consumer price index, and 4.6 percent on the basis of the harmonized index of consumer prices. (NewsIn)
