According to the annual report of the Austrian group, its Romanian subsidiaries registered total subscriptions worth €608.22 mln in 2008, up 47 percent year-on-year. This volume represents over one quarter of the total market, of €2.384 billion.
Revenues obtained by VIG’s subsidiaries doubled last year, to almost €672 mln from €338.4 mln, while expenses surged 84 percent, to €614.5 mln from €333.9 mln. VIG took over BCR Asigurari (insurance) and BCR Asigurari de Viata (life insurance) in 2008 from the Erste financial group, for €244 mln.
