Baumit building its third factory in Romania, to increase production by 50%

“The factory will be built near Bucharest, in Popesti-Leordeni, on 60,000 square meters, and will produce an annual 250,000 tons of material. We have all the necessary approvals, will start construction this spring, and finalize this in about 12 months,” according to a statement for Business Standard by Laurentiu Lupusor, General Manager of Baumit.

Baumit owns two factories in Bucharest and Teius, Alba County, with a total annual production capacity of 390,000 tons of material. Baumit posted €40 million in turnover in 2007, 25 percent higher year-on-year. For 2008 the company estimates a similar increase, up to €50 mln.

Baumit produces thermo isolation systems, flooring, interior and exterior finishing, adhesives, hydro isolations, and other construction materials.
