Beneficiaries of EU funds on agriculture to wait for money until EC publishes official decision

The EC approved on February 20 the National Program for Rural Development (PNDR) which establishes the European funds for agriculture to be rolled but so far Romania did not receive the official decision.

Therefore, although some of the projects submitted in March were selected for financing, the contracts cannot be signed before the EC publishes its decision.

Romania should receive 7 percent advance to help commence the programs. This represents some 561 million euros. Of the 923 projects submitted in March only 341 were approved.

PNDR establishes the policies and the rural development actions for the 2007-2013 period in the farming, forestry and rural development areas. PNDR was approved on February 20 by the Rural Development committee within the European Commission. It was officially released on March 3.
