“Last year, Blue Air salaries rose 8 percent compared to 2007. The company plans to increase salaries this year as well. We will probably maintain the same percentage as last year, of 8-10 percent,” the company’s HR Manager, Teodora Draghici, told Business Standard.
The salary of a Commander Pilot can amount to €5,000, while a Senior First Officer can earn €3,000 per month, to which allowances worth €1,700 and €1,000-1,200, respectively, are added. “They are the ones holding the life of passengers and the existence of a private company in their hands,” Draghici said.
Pilots working abroad can earn up to $10,000.
Blue Air’s staff includes some 70 pilots and more than 100 flight attendants.
