The imported alcoholic drink market is estimated to be worth €70-80 mln, which represents 4-5 percent of the total market.
The best sold imported drink is whisky, at €50 mln. For this year, market players are expecting a 30-40 percent rise in demand for imported drinks. Main competitors are Pernod Ricard, Heinrig, Cristalex, Sollers and BDG.
Cristalex also imports Vodka Absolut, Teacher’s, Grant’s, Jim Beam, Cinzano and Pommery champagne. The company covers 15 percent of total imports, with Teacher’s its best-selling brand.
Romania is among top European countries in terms of alcohol consumption, at an annual 7.5 liters per capita.
