The local average was 3.9 tons per hectare, while the EU average amounted to 5.4 tons per hectare this summer. Furthermore, the Cerealcom Dolj wheat production was four times higher year-on-year.
“This was a very good year,” Anghel told Business Standard. The rape harvest amounted to 3.75 tons per hectare, and the sunflower harvest is also expected to be higher year-on-year, he added.
Cerealcom Dolj has 25,000 hectares of agricultural land in southern Romania.
The local wheat market is estimated at some eight million tons this year, with Racova Com-Agro-Pan, TCE 3 Brazi, Agro Chirnogi, Comcereal and Interagro as main players.
