The statement is a response given to two unions in the field which alleged ANRE had reduced the cheap energy share given to population to 0.02 percent. The representatives of the two institutions will meet with regulator officials to ask for an increase of the quota of cheap energy supplied population.
Most of the cheap energy was provided through contracts signed until 2012, according to Adolf Muresan, the head of one of the unions. He noted such long term contracts should be cancelled as they may have been closed illegally.
The official emphasized the cheap energy contracts are “the robbery of the century” and urged ANRE to supply cheap energy to the population. ANRE officials replied the two unions have assumed their stance looking out carry out certain interests and thus put pressure on the upcoming discussions on the issue.
