The Romanian National Securities Commission (CNVM) plans to reduce fees for stock exchange transactions, according to its President, Gabriela Anghelache.
Brokers have repeatedly requested that CNVM reduce its fees, considering these to be excessively high. The commission said funds are needed for it to function and participation in European projects is expensive.
Gabriela Anghelache did not offer more details on the reduction of fees. She added that CNVM is analyzing this move, but this depends on an increase in the volume of transactions.
CNVM charges a fee of 0.08 percent for share transactions and 0.04 percent for bond and preference right transactions.
