Meanwhile, 21 percent of the companies that were included in the study will lower or eliminate the budget for business trips, and 5.8 percent of enterprises will cut back working hours and overtime.
However, freezing or cutting the number of employees remains the measure preferred by most local companies, as 47 percent indicated they will apply this measure in 2009.
The Senior Consultant in the HR Hart Human Resource advisory company, Loredana Vladareanu, said that other measures for cutting costs include lower salaries, layoffs, flexible hours, and working at home. Regarding salaries, the Hay Group survey shows that almost one fifth of local companies are considering freezing salaries this year.
