"People are no longer that willing to change employers and the mutation that occurred at the level of employees' value and motivation is surprising. Until recently, employees mainly were motivated by spectacular professional hikes, sometimes forced, and revenues defying reality, but we are returning to basic motivational factors, such as job security," she said.
The reasons for which employees leave a company are now related more to the faith that they have in the employer's future and less to salaries.
"Most of those who sent resumes these days are people who have a job, but want to change it, because there are things they do not like, mainly generated by the organization culture and the way they are treated. People leave because they are scared of the future," the General Manager of Xerox România and the Republic of Moldova, Marius Persinaru, said.
Romanian construction sector ranks first in the EU but is losing momentum
The Romanian construction sector registered the best performance in the European Union (EU) in the first quarter of this year, according to data provided by the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat).
The construction sector rose 3.5 percent year-on-year in the first three months of 2009, placing Romania on the first place among EU members. However, the main contribution was brought by the first two months of this year, as the sector registered a decline in March. Thus, construction rose 14.7 percent in January, 3.4 percent in February and fell 2.8 percent in March. However, this sector registered a 1.7 percent increase in March compared to February 2009, the third-largest growth rate in the EU.
