The number of local employees will continue to decline in the coming three months, as 19 percent of employers are considering layoffs. Only 15 percent will continue recruiting, and 65 percent forecast no change in their HR policy for the near future.
The intentions of Romanian companies to recruit staff in the coming quarter dropped 40 percentage points year-on-year and by 20 percentage points compared to Q1 2009.
For the first time, the Net Employment Outlook for the second quarter is registering a negative value of -4 percent.
“The best solution for those who are currently looking for a job is to keep up their skills and knowledge at a high level, and understand that employers will focus more on strategies to maximize productivity,” said the General Manager of Manpower Romania, Camelia Stanculescu.
