Energy traders are caught between producers and clients

For example, the largest state-owned company, Electrica, has already cut prices for delivered energy, for which consumers have requested deliveries lower by some 15 percent as of April.

“We are constantly negotiating. We have cut prices on a monthly basis, for both major and minor clients. This is normal, because the problems of clients are those of their market, and we cannot hold up the energy market,” said Ioan Silvas, Electrica’s Supply Manager.

The price renegotiation fever, due to the difficult economic context, has spread to the energy field, with consumers requesting this of electricity suppliers who, in turn have asked producers to lower contracted quantities and the acquisition price.
