Half of participants are aged 30-44, while a third are over 45 years old.
Most participants work in Bucharest (19 percent), followed by 15 percent each in the central and northwestern regions. The total numbers of participants was 87,954 by the end of May.
According to current legislation, employees must be no older than 52 to contribute to the optional pension system. The contribution cannot exceed 15 percent of gross wage.
