Business people talk business, either on a BlackBerry, a PDA (Personal Digital Assistent) or a smartphone. The difference lies in technology, functionality and price. Although it includes PDA applications, such as a personal organizer, calendar, reminder, and mobile telephony, the BlackBerry was introduced on the market for its e-mail feature.
In November 2004, RIM announced that the number of BlackBerry subscribers reached two million, rising to some 8 million in Q1 of 2007, especially following the launch of the 8800 model. The advantage of using a BlackBerry lies in fast real-time Internet access and the ability to manage up to 10 e-mail accounts, as well as from the fact that the mobile terminal does not require special set-up procedures. The PDA is more appealing to those who prefer the organizer features. The Smartphone is a mix of BlackBerry and PDA, with most smartphones equipped with a built-in camera, besides PDA functions and e-mail.
