“Main growth engines will be market development, the launch of new products, increased production capacities, investments in advertising, and affordable prices,” said the company’s Marketing Manager, Daniela Placintaru. Last year, the company invested €1 mln in advertising.

The company posted turnover worth €18.2 mln in 2007, some 18 percent higher year-on-year.

Interstar Chim, owned by Greek company Zoulama Holdings, controlled by the Eureka group, has a production unit in Bucharest, supplying both the local market and neighboring countries, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, and Macedonia. Besides household products, Interstar Chim also imports and distributes feminine personal care products and condoms.

Its carpet cleaning product, Biocarpet, is market leader on this segment, with a 55 percent share in terms of volume.

Interstar Chim’s main competitors on the local market are Procter&Gamble, Unilever, Henkel and Reckitt Benckiser.
