“Romania is one of our most important targets. It has one of the highest rhythms of development in Eastern Europe and an increasing number of investors are choose this market. Also, low costs are competitive and its logistics are an advantage for our factories,” said Peter Lakatos, Executive Manager of Videoton, for Mediafax news agency.
Lakatos said that Videoton plans to acquire an operational unit with production activities in one or several domains, such as electronics, mechanical product assembly, or plastic products. Lakatos added that the company is also interested in car parts suppliers. Videoton could take over the shares of existing companies.
Videoton owns nine factories in Hungary and one in Bulgaria. Most of its production (43 percent) is for the auto industry.
