ING: Pension funds require issues of state bonds
ING’s mandatory private pension fund, ING Fond de Pensii, plans to invest some 67 percent of subscribers’ funds in bonds issued by the Romanian state and EU governments.

ING Fond de Pensii has 1.28 million subscribers and is leader of the mandatory private pension market, with a 32 percent share. With an average estimated contribution of €6.45 per subscriber, funds administered by ING Fond de Pensii will likely exceed €8 million, of which ING plans to invest €5 mln in state bonds.

According to official estimates, the mandatory private pension market is to amount to €300 mln this year, of which 60 percent are expected to be invested in state bonds.
