The new commercial center stretches over 25,000 square meters with 5,548 square meters of retail space and has 285 parking places.
Kaufland has invested more than 338 million euros in Romania since it entered in October 2005. The company announced it would invest almost 130 million euros this year to open 16 more hypermarkets. The retailer plans to open approximately 50 outlets mainly in small and medium sized cities.

Last year the company initiated a 300 million-euro project in partnership with the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to “contribute to increase the competition mostly in secondary cities and relatively disadvantaged areas,” the EBRD project summary shows.

Kaufland is a part of Lidl&Schwarz Co&KG, founded in 1930. The group has over 166,000 employees working in its 800 hypermarkets in seven European countries. Last year, the group posted revenues from sales totaling 40 billion euros.
