“We plan to sell over 100,000 units, worth more than €8 million and hope to post turnover of €36 million, at over 400,000 phones sold,” said President of LG Electronics Romania, Han Khyu. LG Romania had a market share of less than 7 percent last year and targets over 10 percent this year.

The company posted turnover worth €104 mln last year and targets a 35 percent increase this year, to €140 million.

LG Electronics plans to sell over 1.24 million phones in Europe in 2008, 24 percent higher year-on-year. The Korean producer estimates an increase of some 20 percent in turnover from mobile phones.

“We plan to rank third on the European mobile phone market by 2010,” said Marketing Vice President of LG Electronics, Dominique Oh.

LG could begin construction of a mobile phone factory in Romania, if sales on the European market go according to plan.
