“The year 2008 was one of extremes, which started with the trend of growth rates registered in 2007, and then the influences of the global financial crisis started to take their toll on Menatwork’s business as of October. We estimate €80 million in net sales for this year, at group level,” the company’s General Manager, Monica Grafu, told Business Standard.
She added that the state should take a several measures to stimulate the construction market, including the elimination of the reinvested profit tax, the payment of the value-added tax when receivables are cashed in, the payment of works done for the state in due time, and the elimination of bureaucracy to ease the absorption of structural funds.
The groups’ strategy for 2009 targets boosting production and operations through increasing of the company’s offer, as well as cutting prices within the limits of the drop in raw material costs.
