“Our objective is to become one of the main yoghurt producers in Romania. We hope to become one of the top three yoghurt producers in Romania by the end of 2009,” said Jacob Katz, President of Muller Dairy Romania.
The company came to Romania one year ago through a joint venture with the CBC Group, a partner company and producer of Carlsberg beer in Romania and Israel.
Froop products in Romania are imported from the company’s four factories in Germany. Muller officials do not exclude the possibility of constructing a factory in Romania in the coming years, or acquiring a local dairy producer. “For now, our priority is to make the Muller brand known in Romania. In Great Britain, for example, we first developed the brand and then built a factory after a few years,” added Muller Romania’s President.
