Major Romanian market stocks of notebook computers in the first quarter, coupled with a drop in demand, has lead to a decline in prices of such equipment of over 10 percent, according to players. However, these estimate that this drop in prices will not continue, and even predict a rise to the November 2008 levels, with the arrival of new imports. Nevertheless, a natural erosion of prices of some technologies is expected to continue.
“Due to major stocks already on the market, many notebooks were sold at prices below cost. Producer prices fluctuated downwards very little,” according to a statement for Business Standard Razvan Ziemba, Chief Executive Officer of Asesoft Distribution.
