New Minister of Transports gets rid of the big earners

Berceanu mentioned that the cumulated salaries of the 24 directors amounted to €105,000/month which, if added to the salaries of members of the Boards of Directors, brings the total to a monthly €350,000.  “I decided to fire the 24 company directors.  It is unacceptable for a Minister to have a salary worth RON 40 million, while a director subordinate to the Ministry earns RON 300 million.  The callousness is quite high, and it is difficult to pay such salaries from the state budget,” added Berceanu.  According to data presented by the new Minister, the largest salary amounts to RON 37,000, and belongs to the General Manager of ROMATSA, Francu Aleador, while Ovidiu Bobeica, General Manager of the National Company of the Romanian Railroad (SNCFR), has the lowest, at RON 6,000.
