Realitatea to invest €8 mln in local TV network

The first step will be to open a local Realitatea TV station in the northwestern city of Cluj-Napoca, broadcasting as of today.

The initial investment amounts to €500,000. “We chose Cluj to open the first local Realitatea TV station because of its high economic, human, and journalistic potential,” according to the Development Manager for Realitatea TV’s local network, George Petrule. The new station will broadcast both local and national news.

Some 30 local Realitatea TV stations are to be launched in the coming three years. This year, stations will be opened in the cities of Brasov, Sibiu, Timisoara, Constanta, and Targu-Mures.

The Realitatea-Catavencu group includes several TV and radio stations, magazines and newspapers, including Business Standard.
