The new unit will produce cardboard-gyps panels, according to company officials. They plan to use as raw materials synthetic gyps resulted from Turceni thermal energy complex processes and made an offer to the energy producer on this issue. If the offer is approved, the factory will be built in a nearby area. According to Rigips Romania, General Manager, Constantin Hariton, the thermal plant could sell a sub-product that it is not usine, while Rigips Romania would have a stabile and secure source for raw materials.
Rumors on the market recently said that Lafarge cement producer is interested in investing €100 million in a cardboard-gyps factory in Gorj County and use Turceni complex residues as raw materials.
Rigips Romania’s main competitors are Lafarge and Knauf, on a market growing constantly due to the sound development of Romania’s constructions sector.
