The Romanian Agriculture Ministry foresees 9.8 million tons in corn production this year, compared to 3.93 million last year, according to the latest data on the ministry’s website. “Overall, the production of corn is growing and we will be able to offer a more precise prognosis in the coming weeks,” an Agriculture Ministry official told Reuters.
Due to severe drought last summer, agricultural production declined last year for almost all crops.
