Romania's population keeps the downward trend in November on declining birth rate

Only 17,507 babies were born in November last year, 2,856 less than the previous month and 76 more than the same month in 2006, according to INS. The number of deaths reached 21,719.

As many as 20,363 children were born in Romania in October, 2,752 more than in the previous month, but 21,346 people deceased in October.

The number of marriages decreased by 6,400 month-on-month in November corresponding to a marriage rate of 6 marriages per 1,000 inhabitants. The number of divorces increased by 560 leading to a divorce rate of 1.57 per 1,000 inhabitants.
