The amount makes up for 18.6 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimated for 2008, according to the Economy and Finance Ministry (MEF).
At the end of last year, the public debt amounted to €20.83 billion, or 20.16 percent of the GDP.
More than one third of the public debt was represented by state loans, a further 10.4 percent was made of state bonds, 9.1 percent - Eurobonds and a further 4.7 percent was made of treasury certificates. Other resources types made up 40.2 percent of the public debt. (NewsIn)
