Romanian specialists willing to accept jobs below their qualification and lower salaries

Daniela Necefor, Managing Partner of the Total Business Solution recruitment and executive research firm, said that an increasing number of employees on the local market will move to other fields of activity. “At present, most applications we are receiving are from auto industry sales employees. They are willing to leave and will probably target other fields which have not been affected by the financial crisis,” added Necefor.

According to a study conducted by the U.S. ClearRock company, specializing in outplacement, candidates who are trying to get jobs requiring less qualification than they have are facing the risk of being rejected, because they are over-qualified. “I do not think that Romanian employers will reject over-qualified candidates, but they will use this as a pretext for offering them salaries lower than those paid at their previous workplaces,” added Marian.
