Sandero to boost Dacia sales by 35%
The launch of the Dacia Sandero model in June will boost the car maker’s sales by 35 percent, to over 310,000 units, said Automobile Dacia Vice President, Constantin Stroe.

Furthermore, demand on the Romanian market will increase 15-17 percent, to some 210,000 units. Stroe believes the Sandero will be more popular than initial studies indicated.

The estimated Sandero sticker price will be €9,500, and is expected to sell better than the Logan Berlina model. Chevrolet Kalos, Fiat Punto, Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa and Renault Symbol are all in the Sandero price range.

Total Dacia sales rose 17.4 percent in 2007, to 230,473 units. Demand on the Romanian market reached 102,062 cars, and market share dropped to 28 percent in 2007 from 36.3 percent the year before.

The company estimates total sales to reach 400,000 units in 2010, of which only 120,000-130,000 will be sold on the Romanian market.
