The model, officially launched yesterday, will enter the market segment left empty after the Matiz model, made by Korean car maker Daewoo ceased to be produced, said the Vice President of Automobile Dacia, Constantin Stroe.
Sandero will also compete with imported compact models, worth up to €9,500, such as Peugeot 206, Renault Clio, Astra Classic, Chevrolet Aveo, Skoda Fabia or Ford Fiesta, Stroe said.
The imported cars segment targeted by Sandero represents approximately half of the total imported cars demand, of 205,000 units a year.
