At the close of the Stock Exchange session, SIF indices had dropped 10.8 percent, after having gained some 100 percent in the past seven weeks.
However, brokers indicated that the powerful corrections were not unexpected, as share prices have now returned to levels closer to reality, following sustained appreciations in recent weeks. “The market is just now returning to normal, because we witnessed some abnormal growth in recent weeks. Buyers in the sessions with gains exceeding 10 percent were not portfolio buyers, and it was quite clear that a time would come when they would aggressively unload their earnings,” said Marius Trif, General Manager of Carpatica Invest.
