By August, the airline had accumulated debts to the “Aurel Vlaicu” Bucharest Baneasa International Airport worth €530,000. Marin Anton, Secretary of State with the Ministry of Transports, said that attempts will be made to recover this money, but much depends on the bankruptcy law in Slovakia.
At the end of June, a Sky Europe plane was grounded at the Bucharest airport, due to the company’s half a million euro debt, and was allowed to fly only when the airline promised to pay its fees of €1,000-2,000 on a daily basis to the airport, based on the number of passengers, according to a declaration for Business Standard, by George Mihalcea, General Manager of the airport.
