Stocks in Romania rise led by lenders, financial companies

Deals stood at 23.9 million lei (4.22 million euros), a 52 percent hike from Thursday.

Investors, visibly regained enthusiasm today, broker with Prime Transaction, Gabriel Necula, told NewsIn.

Most of the European markets inched on closing today pending release of statistics on non-agriculture jobs in the U.S. The London Stock Exchange index FTSE gained 0.58 percent to 5,925, the Frankfurt index DAX rose 0.29 percent to 6,761 and the index of the Paris market CAC40 advanced 0.40 percent to 4,907.

The stock market in Romania will also be affected by data released in the U.S., Necula also said.

In Romania, the BET index of the ten top companies on BSE increased 0.91 percent, to 7,183.46 and the BET-C composite index measuring all listed shares minus investment funds went up 0.76 percent, to 5,097.68.

The BET-FI index of the five financial companies SIFs hiked 2.06 percent to 54,875.15 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna climbed 0.43 percent to 16,237.05.

Shares of BRD SocGen (BRD), the country's second lender by assets, were the most liquid today with deals of 3.85 million lei and gained 2.84 percent to 21.70 lei; Banca Transilvania (TLV), the fifth lender by assets, idled at 0.7450 lei.

Shares of Erste Bank (EBS), listed on the international tier of BSE, dropped 1.56 percent to 158 lei, on deals of 576,148 lei.

SIF Moldova (SIF2) climbed 2.49 percent to 2.47 lei, on deals of 3.68 million lei, SIF Oltenia (SIF5) inched 0.34 percent to 2.95 lei, SIF Muntenia (SIF4) increased 2.45 percent to 1.67 lei, SIF Transilvania (SIF3) gained 1.96 percent to 1.56 lei and SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) hiked 3.52 percent to 2.65 lei.

Shares of oil and gas pipes producer Condmag (COMI) dropped 2.56 percent, to 0.76 lei, following transactions of 482,994 lei.
