The crisis resolves the auto industry personnel deficit

“Companies in the auto industry are no longer hiring to supplement their workforce, and are concentrating on keeping their current employees. I do not see this as a disaster in terms of the workforce, if we manage to administer the crisis now and in 2009,” said Constantin Stroe, Vice President of Automobile Dacia and President of the Association of Automotive Manufacturers of Romania (ACAROM).

The labor force deficit, which forced dealers to intensify their recruiting activities and identify training solutions for post-sales vacancies, is likewise due to blur because of the crisis.

“There has been a workforce crisis in the after-sales sector until now, but owing to the black cloud that is hanging over the auto industry, from now on every job will be important for the one who holds it,” said Brent Valmar, Vice President of the Association of Automotive Manufacturers and Importers (APIA), who is also General Manager of Porsche Romania. By next year, the Romanian auto market will reach less than 300,000 units, down from 339,000 units initially estimated, indicated Francois Fourmont, President of Automobile Dacia.
