Adecco, the largest company on the Romanian recruiting and personnel placement market, operating through the Adecco Romania and Adecco Human Resources (HR), registered €23.2 million in turnover, compared to the €19.6 mln posted in 2007, according to the company.

“Almost 80 percent of our turnover came from temporary work activities and the remaining 20 percent from recruitment and personnel selection,” Elena Lotrean, HR Manager of Adecco Romania, told Business Standard.

The local subsidiary of the Dutch Lugera&Makler company, the second-largest player on the Romanian HR market in terms of turnover, posted net sales worth €18.15 mln in 2008, up almost 50 percent year-on-year.

An upward trend was also registered by Manpower Romania, the local subsidiary of a major global HR company, which ranks third on the Romanian market. Manpower posted €12 mln in net sales last year, over one fifth higher year-on-year.

The Professional recruiting and HR consultancy company, the fourth-largest player on the local market, posted €7 mln in business in 2008, up some 23 percent from 2007. This increase was supported mainly by personnel administration services, as well as by recruiting and executive search services.

AIMS Romania, ranking fifth on the Romanian HR market, registered turnover worth some €6.5 mln, 23 percent higher than in 2007. “Profit margins in this industry will plunge in 2009, and the main trends on the recruitment market this year will be declines in recruitment requests and a drop in fees applied by companies in the field,” said Mihaela Perianu, AIMS Romania’s General Manager.
