The wind park is to be developed in the village of Casimcea, in Tulcea County. “ARP and its local partner will establish a joint venture for the project, which will develop and manage the wind part, with the Austrian company as majority shareholder,” sources said.
ARP will cover the costs of the project, while the local partner will contribute the land. Measurements have already been made on that land, so two years of prospecting have been saved. According to the sources, contracts for the joint venture will be signed shortly, and the investment will be launched.
By 2015, Verbund targets production capacities of 400 MW in wind parks in Central and Southeastern Europe, for which the company has some €700-800 million. Beside wind energy, Verbund also relies on water plants, biomass, and solar and geo-thermal energy. The portfolio will be managed by ARP.
