Wizz Air’s development strategy includes doubling the number of its flights and its capacity on flights to and from Romania. Three Airbus A320 aircraft will operate in Romania. “By 2009 we will operate 30 flights in Romania and have 200 employees. Through this expansion, we plan to become leader on the Romanian market,” said Natasa Kazmer, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager.
The company’s main competitor in Romania is Blue Air. Wizz Air has a 31 percent market share, while Blue Air claims 35 percent of the market.
As of 2009, Wizz Air will fly from Timisoara, when it estimates it will transport 1.7 million passengers to and from Romania. The company has been present in Romania since 2006.
